LES SUPER FILLES DU TRAM
One of my self-assigned foodie missions when I first started the blog was to spot the best burger joints in Brussels. Les Super Filles de Tram has made the cut. Located close to Place Flagey and owned by a dynamic female duo, Pascale and Anne, this place is fun, lively and usually packed with burger lovers.
I personally love the decor: wooden chairs, walls covered in bright-coloured cartoon murals and a hand-painted tram on the floor identical to the one passing by on Rue Lesbroussart, where the restaurant is located, create a really fun setting. Most of the times, especially in the evening and on weekends, you’ll need a reservation but even if you don’t have one, you can enjoy a drink or a glass of Belgian beer at the bar while waiting.
Les Super Filles du Tram know how to make a good burger. Think of juicy patties rolled into fresh buns with the sauce of your liking that come in seriously generous portions and a side of fries to make your tummy happy. My favourite is the Classic (beef burger, caramelised onions, cheddar and BBQ sauce) but the menu features many more options. Aside from burgers, you can also find a few lighter options like salads and open sandwiches – a good option for lunch if you work around the area. During the weekend, Les Super Filles du Tram offer several brunch set menus and à la carte options. It remains to be seen whether this place will also make it to my Best Brunch Spots in Brussels list!
My only complaint would be the sometimes slow albeit friendly service, especially on really busy days. Last but not least, a tip that will sound weird but I promise that will make sense once you’re there: pass by the restrooms and consider leaving a note to the Super Filles’ ever growing collection!
