Attention, plant lovers! I’ve discovered a great little spot for you. Are you a coffee aficionado too? Even better! I’m sure Gruun is your kind of place.

Let me start by saying that I’m crazy about plants. But you already know that by now – remember when I shared my very own little urban jungle here on the blog? Over the years I’ve developed a green thumb and find it really relaxing and pleasing for the eye to have different plants at home, not to mention that it feels quite therapeutic to take care of them. Flower markets are my happy place (this one is an all-favourite spot) and I’m always on the lookout for plant shops. That’s why I was really keen to visit Gruun, a cute little spot that sells plants and serves coffee. A match made in heaven in my books!

Gruun, which means “green” in Brussels’ dialect, is primarily a plant shop where you can also sit for a while to have a cup of coffee and relax while browsing. Upon entering, I felt right in my element and was happy to see that the variety of plants and pots to go with was really good. You can find anything from a small succulent to a larger indoor tropical plant: it really is the greenest pit stops in town! Besides the lovely plants, there are a few tables inside as well as outside where you can actually enjoy your drink with a view of L’Envol, the statue of Belgian singer Jacques Brel. My partner in crime and I had a quick coffee before selecting the new member of our little green family. The coffee was another pleasant surprise – well made and sourced from MOK, one of the best coffee spots in Brussels.
