MY URBAN JUNGLE
One thing you probably don’t know about me is that over the last couple of years I’ve become quite the plant lady! Gardens, parks and flower centres have always been my happy place (which I’m sure you have guessed based on the content I post here on the blog) and my long-term dream is to live in a house with a big garden on a Greek island someday.
In the meantime, I decided to create my own urban jungle at home, a little green oasis that I am really proud of. I actually think I have inherited my green thumb from my mother who always grows the most beautiful plants back home. I may still have a long way to go until I get my dream garden but am slowly getting there!
Each of these little green fellas is linked to a special place or memory I hold close to my heart which makes them even more precious. Like the pilea that grew from a tiny baby plant I was offered by a kind lady at Les ecuries van de tram in Brussels or the oxalis I got on a girls’ weekend with my best friends in Paris. I also promised on my Instagram stories to tell you about the last ones I bought, so here you go! Lately I added to the family the lovely epiphyllum (also known as “fish bone cactus”) that I found at Petersham Nurseries in Richmond and the string of pearls from the Columbia Road Flower Market in London which now lives in the pink Malibu pot I had bought from Thelma Coffee & Design in Leuven.
Any other plant ladies or gents out there? Have you got your urban jungle or spotted any great plants you can’t wait to share?
