POSTCARDS FROM ATHENS

I should probably start this post by admitting that I’m not objective when it comes to Athens. Similarly to Brussels, it’s a city that you either love or hate but it has my heart. I guess it’s because I’ve spent a good part of my life there and have so many great memories that make up for all the occasional drawbacks.

All good memories aside, Athens is a truly amazing city, especially if you know where to go. The Greek capital has everything the traveller’s heart longs for and more, ranging from delicious food, lively nightlife, rich history and around 300 days of sunshine annually. I could go on and on about my favourite spots and things to do in the city: open-air cinemas, yummy street food, sandy beaches just a  short drive away from the centre, the Acropolis, great cafes and bars and last but not least, friendly people who keep smiling despite having been hit hard by the financial crisis.

I will make sure to post a detailed travel guide over here soon but in the meantime, I wanted to share with you a few photos that depict some of the things I love and miss most about it. Enjoy!
