42 BAR

42 Bar is one of my favourite venues for cocktails in the centre of Athens. Stylish and ambient, it reminds me of an old gentlemen’s club where you can enjoy some of the best cocktails in the city. Here it’s all about the details: Dim lighting, wooden surfaces, red leather stools, quirky glasses and jazz playing in the background – very elegant, very NY.

The long mahogany bar is where mixologists let the magic happen. The process always involves homemade blends and Greek ingredients, such as masticha and locally sourced herbs. Choosing a cocktail at 42 Bar is not a simple task as there are way too many great choices on the menu. No worries though; if you can’t make up your mind, you can always let the bartenders create a bespoke cocktail based on your preferences – and trust me, I’ve never been disappointed!

If you’re looking for a relaxed place to enjoy a good drink in downtown Athens, 42 Bar comes highly recommended! Bonus points for the lovely terrace in the quiet pedestrian street where the bar is located – a great setting to enjoy a cocktail or two on a warm night in the Greek capital.
