PIZZA SACO

After completing my quest for the best burgers in Brussels, I was on to a new mission: spotting the best pizza in town! My first discovery was no other than Pizza Saco in Schaerbeek, a local pizza bar that has become a new favourite ever since!

The pizza here is made right in front of you and baked in a wood-fired oven. The best part? It tastes dangerously good: thin dough, crispy crust and delicious toppings in generous quantities make it just perfect! I would definitely recommend pizza “Lolik” (Parma ham, mozzarella di bufala, cherry tomatoes and fresh basil), “Burrata” (courgette, eggplant, burrata and garlic) and “Tartufina” (ricotta, coppa, cherry tomatoes, onions, dried tomatoes, truffle cream) – all excellent! Apart from the standard pizzas on the menu there are also a few special ones which change from time to time – just ask the waiters and they’ll be happy to explain.  

Pizza Saco is open Monday to Saturday in the evening, so lunch is not an option. Make sure you arrive early or book in advance to avoid disappointment! But even if you don’t manage to find a table, you can always pop by and order your favourite pizza to take away.
