PASSA PORTA
The other day I came across a quote on Pinterest, which I found not only inspiring but also absolutely true: “Reading a book is a discount ticket to everywhere”. I personally consider books as the next best thing after a plane ticket; there’s nothing quite like losing yourself in a great story.
If you agree with all the above, keep reading – I’ve found a great spot for you: Passa Porta bookstore in Brussels. Located on the trendy Dansaert street just minutes away from the Bourse in downtown Brussels, this bookshop is easy to miss as nothing reveals its presence but a small sign. Pass through the corridor and you’re immediately in an oasis of calmness in the middle of the city and one of the best bookstores in town.
Passa Porta is home to a wide range of carefully selected books ranging from literature to poetry, art and children’s books in various languages, including English, French, Dutch, German, Italian and Spanish. The space is bright, nicely decorated and very organized, which means that you can happily spend hours there browsing both new and second-hand books with a cup of coffee or tea (available for free which goes to prove that it’s all about the details!).
Last but not least, Passa Porta organizes seminars, workshops, expositions and other cultural events on a regular basis, so keep an eye on their agenda in case you enjoy writing, you’re interested in joining a book club or simply fancy trying something new.
