3 GREAT SPOTS TO VISIT IN CAMBRIDGE
Cambridge may be known for being a university town extraordinaire but in reality it’s so much more for that. Being a short train ride away from London, it’s a place I visit once in a while and every time I discover a new cute little spot that makes me want to go back. I have already posted a few places I love on my Instagram but wanted to share my current favourites on the blog too. So which spots are worth a visit in Cambridge?
FITZBILLIES
This cafe with its beautiful Art Nouveau facade is a Cambridge institution. Their selection of cakes is pretty good but the stars are their famously sticky Chelsea buns which have been sold on the premises since 1921. The recipe is being kept secret and no wonder why – they’re gooey, rich in cinnamon and dotted with a generous amount of raisins. The only problem is that they’re selling out fast. In the back, there’s a large space where you can also enjoy a full English breakfast or their equally popular avocado on toast.

THE OLD BICYCLE SHOP
This spot seems to be ticking all the boxes: quaint interiors, kind service, good food and a little sunny terrace in the back. Sure, it’s on the expensive side but worth it. The wonderful atmosphere is what makes this place special. I love the quaint little bicycle details, copper lampshades, wooden beams, mismatched chairs and the fact that there are power outlets with USB ports on the wall beside the booths. A great spot for brunch, dinner or a cup of really good coffee.

TAMBURLAINE HOTEL
This is by far my favourite spot in Cambridge when I want to treat myself. The hotel, which has taken his name from a play written by celebrated Cambridge alumnus Christopher Marlowe, is located close to the train station and has a restaurant, cocktail bar and the plush Garden Room. The space is bright, airy, filled with plants and beautifully decorated – the perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea or a glass of champagne.
