OR COFFEE ROASTERS
It’s been already a few years since Or Coffee Roasters opened close to the Bourse in the centre Brussels and earned a reputation as one of the best coffee spots in town. Founded in Ghent back in 2001 by Tom Janssen and Katrien Pauwels, Or Coffee Roasters take coffee seriously. Coffee varieties from all over the world are carefully selected, roasting takes place in Aalst and brewing follows different techniques to make sure that the flavour and aroma of each type of coffee are highlighted.
Or Coffee Roasters have opened in the meantime a second branch at Place Jourdan in the European Quarter of Brussels, which is as good as its big brother in downtown Brussels. Great coffee, knowledgeable staff that are happy to help and – the very popular nowadays – industrial decor that remind me of hip coffee shops in Berlin. The Etterbeek branch has become one my favourite places to enjoy cake or a bagel and a cup of filter coffee while reading a magazine, working on the blog (wifi is free btw) or simply people watching. If you don’t have that kind of time though, you can also pop in for a quick coffee break as they do takeaway too.
