JAT CAFE
As the Brussels coffee scene is evolving, many great cafes have popped up around town. After sharing with you where to find the best coffee in town, I wanted to show you a few cozy cafes where one can relax and spend some time catching up on work over their laptop, reading a book or hanging out with friends. Jat Cafe, together with Parlor Coffee, Cafe Belga and Workshop Cafe, is definitely one of those places.
Located in a quiet street close to Place Royale and the Royal Palace of Brussels, Jat Cafe has taken its name after the word “jat” which stands for mug – quite appropriate, eh? Apart from coffee and tea, you can find here bagels, sandwiches, salads, soups, pastries, muffins which you can take away and brunch during the weekend. Staff are really nice (not always a given in Brussels) and happy to help you in more than one languages.
The space is bright and decorated with warm colours, vintage sofas and super cool Scandic design details. A very warm cafe with nice music, perfect for a pit stop in between shopping, visiting some of Brussels iconic sights or a quick lunch. During warm days, there’s a terrace overlooking the street where you can enjoy the sun together with coffee and cake. Did I mention the free wifi and press? As their logo suggests, Jat Cafe indeed loves to make coffee for a city that loves to drink it!
