LES ATELIERS DES TANNEURS
I have never been really into junk food, but over the years I’ve come to appreciate even more the value of eating smart and opting for a healthy diet. A few weeks ago I was browsing online trying to spot a few places in Brussels selling bio products for my weekend grocery shopping and came across the organic market at Les Ateliers des Tanneurs. A short ride later, I arrived ready to explore!
The market is located in a beautifully renovated 19th century warehouse which used to host the Palais du Vin in the past. The building also houses a centre for startups and a restaurant offering brunch that was sadly closed (going back soon to investigate a bit more!) All products sold at Les Ateliers des Tanneurs are organic and for the most part, locally sourced. There’s such a great variety that it’s literally a foodie’s heaven: seasonal vegetables and fruits, homemade bread and viennoiseries, cheese, flour, jam, pasta, olive oil, wine, dried fruits and nuts, juices and the list goes on!
The market is covered, but if you are lucky with the weather you can sit on their sunny terrace and enjoy a mini brunch right then and there. That’s exactly what I did and had a swell time!
