MAISON RENARDY

The Maison Renardy is a cafe – tea room where time stops and somehow you’re magically transferred to an oasis of calmness where sweets are homemade and coffee is served on a silver platter. Located close to the Matongé area, Maison Renardy was founded in 1912 and remains ever since a family-run business. A few of the aspects I love about this spot is the polite service and how details matter (who doesn’t fancy their coffee being accompanied by a homemade praline after all?).

But what really makes me come back at Maison Renardy is their great selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, available for take-out as well. And no matter how many times I’ve been here, I can never resist their sweet and savoury treats and end up trying the pastry of the day, a bowl of warm soup or a slice of their fabulous quiches. Last but not least, it is worth trying the family’s homemade jams and spreads as well as their freshly baked bread (which lives up to the standards of Charli in my opinion). So, next time you find yourselves around Porte de Namur or Saint Boniface, Maison Renardy is worth the detour; you will love it!
