ELLIS GOURMET BURGER

Ellis Gourmet Burger is a safe bet when it comes to having a great burger in Brussels. Upon its arrival at Place Sainte Catherine it received praising comments for its quality and luckily, it has kept up the good work.

Located in a beautiful house overlooking the church, it’s named after Ellis Island in New York, the US entry point for millions European immigrants back in the day, who brought along the hamburger. The decor is a mixture of retro and modern elements: high ceilings, a large gallery wall, chairs from the 50’s and burger-related facts in typographic sound narrated on the walls.

The food is the main star here though! The menu comprises many options to choose from, including some vegetarian ones. My go to burger is the Meatlover with extra cheddar cheese and bacon (toasted bun, tomato, lettuce, red onion, pickles and a juicy 100% beef patty from famous Hendrick Dierendock). The mini burger trio (beef, chicken and lamb) also comes highly recommended for those who want to try a little bit of everything. Make sure you order a couple of sides too for the full experience: both the fries and the coleslaw salad are excellent. Last but not least: go hungry and enjoy!
